About the Company
It started with pansies, Louisa and Antonio Russo immigrated from Italy and settled in Roslindale. Seeing the need to supply local cemetery visitors with gifts, they started growing and selling panises in 1930. Across the street was one of Boston's busiest flower shops, Lombardi Florist. Sonny Canale began work there in 1943.
After an honorable discharge from the Navy. Sonny embarked upon his ambition to fulfill the American dream. Arnold "Sonny" Canale bought Lombardi Florist in 1957. Lombardi's had been a successful florist and nursery since the early 1900s. In 1959, Sonny married Marie "Russo" Canale and merged Lombardi's with her family's florist, Russo's Florist.
Foreseeing the changing economy in the coming millennium, Sonny adopted the name Exotic Flowers as its primary signature for doing business in 1993. In 1994 a satellite location was opened at 2 Dartmouth Street in Boston's South End. In 1995, in order to expand our services, we opened a full-service floral shop and garden center on Route 3A in Cohasset. In June 2001 our flagship store opened at the greenhouse at Faneuil Hall Marketplace and remained in the heart of Boston for over ten years. Those stores have come and gone but Roslindale remains the company's landmark; an inner-city delight that ignites the senses and cherishes Welcome.
Exotic Flowers realizes we are a part of the community and continue to do our best by employing strong business ethics. Our staff has all been here for years. The sense of family we derive as merchants is whole.

Exotic Flowers remains a family-owned and operated business. Sonny passed in 2023 and worked every day until then. Marie Canale can be found at the shop every day. Their son, Rick Canale oversees the daily operations and ensures that Exotic Flowers remains Boston's Premier Florist. Made with love**

To help assure on-time delivery during the busy holiday season, place your order at least 1 day prior to the following major holidays: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day, New Year's Day, Valentine's Day, Easter, Administrative Professionals Week, Mother's Day, Memorial Day, Father's Day, Independence Day and Labor Day.
Our shop will always be closed on the following holidays: Christmas Day, New Year’s Day, Independence Day and Labor Day.

Delivery Policy
A local delivery fee of $18.99 will be added to each order, for each address. (This fee may vary for deliveries outside our local delivery area.)
U.S. orders must be received before 11 am in the recipient's time zone to ensure same-day delivery. Orders received after that time will be delivered the following day.
We will do our best to accommodate deliveries at specific times of the day, but we cannot guarantee it.
Delivery of orders to rural route addresses or cemeteries cannot be guaranteed.
Substitution Policy
Occasionally, substitutions may be necessary to create your bouquet due to the availability of certain flowers in various parts of the country. Care is taken to maintain the style, theme and color scheme of the arrangement, using flowers of equal value. Additionally, the substitution of certain keepsake items may be necessary due to increased demand, especially during major holidays. In single-flower arrangements, such as an all rose bouquet, or orchids, we will make every attempt to match the flower type, but may substitute with another color.
